I have always been a voracious reader – at one point I’d read just about every book in the (then-tiny) Moon Township Public Library’s picture book collection! I stopped for a while but have been averaging around 100 books or so a year since I got my Kindle two years ago. I am a part of several Facebook groups for books and I also check things like Book of the Month, Amazon, and celebrity reading groups – I typically am really into Reese Witherspoon and Jenna Bush-Hager’s picks! I also like to browse the book selection at Target and B&N and choose books by their pretty covers – sometimes it works out!
My all-time favorite genre to read would be what’s classified as “chick-lit” – a more contemporary romance novel. I grew up sneaking my mom’s Danielle Steel novels, so I guess it’s always been a part of me! I also enjoy contemporary fiction, celebrity biographies, and occasionally some historical fiction. I love to read Jasmine Guillory, Sophie Kinsella, Talia Hibbert, Christina Lauren, Mia Sosa, and Fredrik Backman. I can’t ever pick a favorite book because I love so many of them, but my first and last reads of 2020 got 5/5 stars for me: Get A Life, Chloe Brown by Talia Hibbert and Anxious People by Fredrik Backman.
I have a five year old, so a lot of the movies I watch are animated and in short spurts. I am a sucker for Disney/Pixar films! As for TV, my favorite show ever is Parks and Recreation (my husband bought me a Cameo from Jim O’Heir for my last birthday!) and I also love The Office, Friends, and really anything that can make me laugh. I still watch Grey’s Anatomy, too – old habits die hard! For music, I will always love Beyonce. Much like my taste in movies, TV Shows, and books, I enjoy lighter fare musically – I like to move and regularly put on pop music as I cook dinner. I grew up a diehard NSYNC fan and have an uncanny ability to remember ALL of the lyrics to 90s/2000s music (this includes rap music; my knowledge of Jay-Z lyrics was lots of fun at college parties). On my drive into work I like to listen to podcasts like The Office Ladies Podcast – so much fun!
