GSK Science in the Summer Camp for 2nd-3rd Grade – Sharpsburg

July 24 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every day that begins at 3:00pm, repeating until July 25, 2019

This FREE hands-on summer camp is sponsored by Glaxo Smith Kline and presented by the Carnegie Science Center.

The theme of the camp is the Science of Me.  Children are invited to explore the biological systems that make humans fundamentally alike and the elements that interact to create a different individual.  Through engaging hands-on exploration, children will discover how food becomes our body’s fuel, where oxygen goes when we breath it, how our brains interpret the world, and what role DNA plays in making us who we are.

This camp meets on 4 consecutive days (M-Th) for an hour.  Participants are expected to attend at least 3 of the 4 days. There will be 2 daily sessions: one for incoming 2nd-3rd grade students and one for incoming 4th-6th grade students.

Registration for this program will begin in late May/early June.  This listing is for the 2nd-3rd grade session.
